Innate within Barendrecht, De Bruijn tried several sports prior to settling by owning floating. She debuted at the World Championships inside 1991, winning a bronze decoration sustaining a Tetrad x Hundred m relay team, with which she experienced already won the gold medal at European Championships.

A resulting season, De Bruijn mass produced her Olympic debut at a 1992 Summer Olympics, & finished Eighth in the One c m and Foursome ten One c m freestyle cases. She continued to swim by having a right in the next years, however was non motivated plenty to compete in the 1996 Summer Olympics, and stayed residence.
